CHARACTER
Name: Sora
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: The end of KH3D
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: No other characters here
Personality: Sora is a young man with a very brave and heroic personality. He is willing to leap into danger and risk his own life for the sake of others, even if he does not know them; like when he tried to save Ansem the Wise from the heart encoder explosion. It's also evident when he rushed in to save Megara who had been swarmed by heartless, even though he didn't know her yet.
Sora has a large capacity to forgive others. In the first game, when Riku was his enemy and had tried to kill him own several occasions, Sora had forgiven him easily after the events. He was just frustrated with how Riku acted towards him and how Riku was getting involved with the heartless. Sora is even able to forgive his most hated enemies. When he believed Xehanort's heartless saved Kairi (when it was really Riku) Sora said that he was mad at the things Xehanort's heartless did, but was thankful in him rescuing Kairi. He expressed concern even to Maleificent (who was his enemy in the first game) when she kept the dusks at bay during the battle of Radiant Garden, to allow him and his friends to escape. Sora's forgiveness seems to be easily won, depending on the circumstances. He is capable of forgiving just about anyone depending if they protect him or his friends or help them in some way. However, their can be exceptions to his forgiveness, as in Chain of Memories he forgave Namine for messing with his memories, knowing that she really had no choice in the matter.
Towards his enemies, Sora has very little patience for selfishness or cowardice, as he would chastise Hades and Iago for such acts (but later forgiving Iago when he proved to be sorry for his actions.) Sora isn't stupid but he is rather gullible. When he just meets someone he usually believes whatever is said, like when Mulan tried to pass herself off as man, Goofy was the only one to figure out she was a girl. When it comes to his enemies though, this part of Sora doesn't come up at all. He knows the person is bad and he won't fall for any of their tricks. At one point Xemnas had tried to exploit Sora's kinder side by trying to make the boy sympathize with the nobody's lack of heart. Sora's only reply to this was 'nobodies don't feel sad about anything.'
Even in the worst of situations, Sora seems to remain optimistic no matter how hard things are looking. When he and Riku stuck in the Realm of Nothing, Sora reassured Riku they would get out and just needed to think positive. Even when stuck in the Realm of Darkness, Sora still remained positive. Even if they were stuck there, the Realm of Light was safe. But Sora can falter in his optimistic attitude. When he and Riku were stuck in the Realm of Darkness, Sora had expressed about how the darkness had gotten to him. As he had come to feel that they may never get home. He even became disheartened over the fact that, it was indirectly his fault that Kairi had been kidnapped by the Organization.
Sora is also very self sacrificing for those he cares for. When Kairi's heart was locked inside him, it didn't take him long to act. He pierced his chest with the Keyblade that Unlocks people's hearts to free her's and became a heartless in the process. Again he showed this when he closed Kingdom Hearts for the first time. He had the choice to go back with Kairi or stay behind and find Riku. Knowing that she'd be safe, he told her he'd come back and then left to find Riku.
Sora is known to keep his promises. He follows through on what he has promised no matter what shape or form. With Kairi, he had promised to return both her lucky charm and to come home to her. He made a promise to Namine to thank her for restoring his memories, even though he'd forget about that promise . Sora never breaks his promises though, no matter what the circumstance. It may take him awhile to actually get around to uphold his end but he will make full on his promise. He was able to return her charm and come home to Kairi after a year of being away. He was able to thank Namine in Coded (even if it was just a data replica of himself, and not really him.)
Sora is capable of becoming fast friends with anyone he meets. In every world he visits, he becomes friends with those he meets in a short amount of time. In the first game, Kairi and Riku were his best friends and were on a higher level than his other friends. Overtime, Sora has placed all his friends on the same level, as he worries about all of them. When in Kingdom hearts one, where he would do anything to find both Riku and Kairi (like take the controls to the Gummi ship away from Donald and crash them into a planet. For the off chance his friends were there.) In the second game however, he asks Kairi and Riku quietly to himself to give him more time, as Radiant Garden was under attack and need his help. Now, he considers all his friends as equal and is willing to go to any lengths to help them.
Sora relies on his friends, though not for everything. But he believes his friends give him strength and it isn't the keyblade that does. When he first lost it to Riku in the first game, he felt lost and unsure of himself. He had been the one who fought with it for so long, only to have it ripped away from him. Sora came to realize that he never needed the keyblade. His heart was his strongest weapon. It had been nurtured by the bonds he made over the course of his journey. With his friends, he knew he could do anything and was prepared to fight Riku armed with a wooden sword. This was enough to prove that his heart was stronger than Riku's and won him back the keyblade.
Sora is usually very goofy and happy the majority of the time. He can always keep happy face no matter what he's been through. Even though at points his sadness does get to him, with feeling guilty for getting Kairi kidnapped and parting with the Twilight Town gang. Sora can pull through with the help of his friends. His cheerful and friendly nature allows him to interact with others easily and winning him friends. This part of his personality is evident throughout all of the games he's in and all the people he fights alongside or protects.
Sora is not without his faults. He has a temper that is usually easily set off. When he becomes confused or is mocked by an enemy, he quickly descends into anger. Sora even lost his temper at Donald when the duck had not wanted to explore Deep Jungle. When Sai'x had made Sora beg to see Kairi, only to tell Sora he wouldn't get to see Kairi, Sora shot back to his feet and was ready to attack. With any of the nobodies in Organization Thirteen, Sora shows his temper. As each one usually goads him on to collect more hearts and using him throughout the second game. His temper usually makes him rush into things without fully thinking things through, as he did with Alice's court case. But it was also because of Sora's strong sense in justice that compels him to act this way.
Sora is very competitive as he usually is always up for a challenge. When he was on his island, he and Riku would always be competing in obstacle courses or in mock battles to see who'd win the most. Where as Riku would usually shrug his win off, Sora would take great pride and enthusiasm in winning. Even when Sora went to the Olympic Collosieum, he was ready to participate in the games and take up the challenge. He can be very childish if he loses. Usually groaning over the fact that he lost. What bothers him is when his opponent doesn't seem to take things seriously. When he wins the race on Destiny Island, Riku tells him to lighten up over naming their raft. This is met with a glare from Sora as he had just worked hard to win.
Sora has been known to be a bit thoughtless, but not intentionally. Around those of higher authority he seems to forget himself sometimes. With Queen Minnie, instead of bowing along with Donald and Goofy, he just asked where King Mickey was. Sora once forcefully dragged the King to show him a portrait of Xehanort. Sometimes, Sora remembers to show respect to higher authority, like with Jasmine and Simba.
Sora has been described by the data version of Ansem the wise by having a lot of love in his heart. Sora cares about other people so much he is willing to go to any lengths for them. Because of this love it allows him to see the good before the bad, being able to see everything as "shiny and perfect." His love is even been described as Ansem as being able to bring others back from non existence so long as he follows his heart.
Sora's sense of loyalty is also very strong with his friends. He trusts them undoubtedly, knowing they will come through in the end. Just as he believed in Riku to getting the other Sound Idea in the Symphony of Sorcery world. This is why he acts with outrage when he finds out someone has used their friends and lied to them. When he found out the Organization's true goal, of gathering 13 vessels for Xehanort, Sora was horrified and angry. Justly so because he couldn't believe Xemnas would lie to the members about them not having hearts.
Sora has come to learn though, that anything and anyone can have a heart. When he experienced Roxas's memories that's when he learned Nobodies did have hearts.
In the end, Sora is like any other teenage boy his age. He has a good head on his shoulders and is willing to help those in need. He's not above having fun when it's the right time and place, but he knows when to take things seriously. For a boy who is essentially the Messiah for the Kingdom Hearts universe, he is still a very normal, if special, kid.
First Person:
[Sora finds himself waking up on a train.
That's funny, he doesn't remember getting on one in Twilight Town.
Approaching the window, he stares out. Well, definitely this isn't Twilight Town.
When it comes to a stop, the spikey haired derp walks out and looks around.]
Riku? King Mickey?
[But he feels something drop in one of the big red pouches on his side.
Pulling it out, it's a pocket watch.
Curiously looking at it, he starts pressing random buttons.
He's not very good with this stuff you call technology. But soon a screen opens up.
Whoa, didn't expect that.]
Hey, hello? This is Sora. Where are you guys? Don't tell me I've fallen asleep again! Huh, I wonder what world I'm in...Uh oh.
[Sora's just come to a small epihany.]
Don't tell me this is Organization XIII again!
[If it is, Sora's not feeling too confident, he doesn't want to become a vessel after all. Turning into someone else is scary. But shaking that off, he remembers, his friends will always be there to help him. So he smiles.]
Well, even if it is, I'll be okay you're all with me right now and I know you'll come find me if that's the case.
Third Person: Having turned the watch off, Sora was left to himself now. The teenager frowned though. He wasn't used to being on his own a lot. It wasn't like he couldn't be by himself, it was just not the same without Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Riku, or Kairi being around. He knew they were with him in his heart. But having them right there beside him would have been a lot better. He couldn't think like that right now though. He was in a new world and it would probably be better to explore it.
Having entered the city, Sora curiously looked around, hands tucked behind his head in the usual way he carried himself. He was relaxed now, because he knew he'd see his friends sooner or later. He just needed to remember that they were connected and everything would be okay. Besides there was nothing to worry about. Kairi was safe on the island and Riku, Mickey, Donald and Goofy were back at Master Yen Sid's tower. So, he could relax and have some fun for a little bit. Maybe even make some new friends.
As Sora looked at this city, he raised a hand curiously to his face. He knew he woke up on the train that took him here. There was only one thing bugging him. How'd he even get on it in the first place? Of course, there was the possibility is was the Xehanorts that stuck him on it. If that was true wouldn't they have put him in a different set of clothes? They did that last time so they could track him. So that was out. Maybe it was a different plan all together? All this ended up just giving Sora a headache trying to think about what was going on.
So, instead of worrying about it, Sora had instantly got distracted with the sights of the town. Grinning like the dork he was, Sora began running down the street as he set off to explore this new world. He didn't know what he was going to find but he had a feeling it was going to be great.
