Dive 003: Rage of the Keyblade Wielder

Accidental video/Action

[With the whole debacle of people forgetting who they were, Sora was going to do something reckless. These Malnossa, whoever they were, Sora was now sure of their evil. Not that he wasn't before, but now he actually saw what they would do to people. If it wasn't enough for them to take him away four times before and to take away his memories of his friends he met here, now they were took away the memories of people who were here for a long time?

Well, Sora packed a bag and left for the barrier. Having found a map of Luceti he's gone to the barrier. It takes him less time with flow motion and gliding than it would on foot. So he's there within maybe about half or quarter of the time. Stopping in front of the barrier Sora has his keyblade drawn. He's thrown his bag aside and his journal falls out, opening to start a video.]

COME OUT, MALNOSSA! I KNOW YOU'RE HIDING BEHIND THAT! COME OUT AND FIGHT YOU COWARDS!

[And Sora's there at the barrier for hours. He's firing beams of light at the barrier, blasting it with a wide variety of magic, rapid physical attacks, flowmotion attacks. Everything he can do. Pretty much everything being shown in this and this, and more. Each attempt however earns him being thrown back from an explosion or the barrier tossing him back from the force of his blows. His attacks looking like they're not doing anything

It's at this point Sora does this. Suddenly, two large keyblades fly up, one of gold and one of blue. They spin and soon connect together to create one larger keyblade. Coming up beside it, an image of Riku appears on the other side. Soon, Sora's unleashing wild slashes upon the barrier with this keyblade along with the Riku image. It traces out large gold lines, but when it finishes, Sora's thrown back by the barrier reflecting it's power back. Yup, didn't break it. This earns a loud yell of frustration from Sora.]

[This takes Naoto aback for a moment. It's been a while since she last saw someone go up to the barrier and beat at it relentlessly like this, fueled by their anger towards the Malnosso.

Which in itself almost seems weird. The fact that it's been a while since she's seen someone do this, that is. Because she knows that every villager, even herself, is mad at the Malnosso for one reason or another. They would take them down if they had the chance. They'd rebel. But it's almost like everyone bottles up their anger and accepts things as they are.

Because what can they do but express their anger through agitated sighs and spiteful words? Everyone, especially Naoto, wants to do more than that, but no one has been able to come up with anything more.

But she can't let him continue to beat at the barrier like that. So she calls out to him]

Sora-kun!

[Sora hears the familiar voice and well, he's guessing like the others, they want to stop him. Sora doesn't want that though. It wasn't fair. None of it was.

But, he'll reply because after all it's not like Naoto had any bad feelings intended.]

Hey, Naoto.

...That's enough. [She's frowning a little]

Your frustration is understandable, as we all may feel the same, but there is no point in you continuing like this. Not to mention, breaking the barrier, if it happened to be possible, would not be wise in our current state. What lies outside is dangerous.

[Seems like everyone is on his case about this. He frowns a bit himself.]

What are supposed to do then, Naoto? We can't just sit here an let them get away with this stuff!

[Naoto really doesn't feel comfortable talking about this on the open network, a place where the Malnosso can see, so she tries to keep it brief]

You are correct. We cannot allow them to continue experimenting on us as they do. However, considering our current position, there is not much we are capable of doing, especially if we hold the desire to keep everyone within the barrier safe. There are children and people who are unable to fight among us.

The Malnosso have the advantage over us with power caps and the barrier itself as they can control whatever is on the inside of it. So strategizing and observing is all we can do for the time being.

[She has all the right points, darn it Naoto, why you be logical? Sora sighs as he lowers his keyblade, soon willing it to vanish. He definitely doesn't want a bunch of people getting hurt because he wanted to kick Malnosso butt.]

I guess I'll head back then...

Thank you. [She lets out a light sigh of relief]

[So, Sora will just pack up what he had and now make his way back to town. It again takes less time because of gliding and flow motion but he's back probably around sunset.

He's not going to go home though, but he'll sit by the fountain looking forlorn.]

[And by sunset, Naoto has finished up her shift at the library and is leaving to go back home--with an armful of books of course. But as she walks out into the plaza, she spots Sora and approaches him.]

Are you all right, Sora-kun?

[Looking up at Naoto, he sighs a little.]

I'm fine, I guess. I just wish there was something I could do.

[She sits down on the fountain next to him, placing the books on her lap]

There are things you can do, even though they may not be the particular options you desire most. As I said before, observing, analyzing and strategizing are our best and only options at the present. It may not sound appealing to one who wishes to take action immediately, but it helps more than you know.

[Yeah, sitting and gathering evidence wasn't really Sora's style. Sure, he did it occasionally if it meant saving someone's life if they were in a trial. But, he'd rather take the direct approach.]

Yeah...I guess.

[He's still kind of pouting though.]

I'm guessing we did a lot of investigating before I left, huh?

[She blinks at that then looks out straight ahead of her for a moment as she thinks back.]

No, I don't believe we did a lot of investigations together. You and I had discussed our own worlds and your own personal adventures more than we had anything else.

Roxas-kun has been the one who has assisted me in investigating a wide varieties of things.

Really? Huh...you'd think I remembered that....

[Sora sighs as he looks down as he laces his fingers together. But, as he sits there he remains silent for a bit too long. Something felt familiar about this...]

You know...it feels like there's something really important that I need to say to you...

It isn't particularly strange that you don't. Amnesia is common if not normal for those who leave and later return to Luceti, no matter how much time has passed.

[She gives him a curious look at that] What is it?

Well...it feels like we made a really important promise and with what I did a little bit ago at the barrier I need to say sorry to you.

Does that make any sense?

[Well that's... new. She sits up straight and stares at him.

It isn't entirely uncommon for those with amnesia to feel some kind of pang of familiarity if the situation or an item is important enough to trigger something in their mind. But she's never heard of that kind of case in Luceti. Once you've left and come back, you normally never remember or feel any kind of familiarity. Some people do slowly regain their memories over time but it's either regain or lose your memories, no in between.]

A little, yes. [ "Promise me you won't try going after anybody by yourself ever again. We're friends-- right? I'm always here to help you with any fight you need me to fight... Just as long as you're not alone." "I promise. You have to promise me the same." "I promise."

It tugs at her heart a little but she doesn't want to get her hopes up.] Are you able to recall what the promise itself was?

[Sora notices her look, it seems like he hit something with that. It makes it even worse for him to try and recall whatever it was that was important. After all, she had to deal with a friend leaving.

He takes another moment once she asks him if he remembers the promise clearly. He furrows his brow as he does.]

I'm not really sure....I just remember it was important.

[She doesn't look disappointed in the slightest at his answer. Instead, she just relaxes a bit. She wasn't going to go and give her hopes on just a feeling that he had. Besides, it's not like she really did expect him to remember]

It is important. [She smiles a bit to herself] If you are ever able to remember it, tell me.

I will. I mean we're friends after all.

[She has to smile at that]

Yes. We are indeed friends.

Well, there you go.

[He sits there for a moment before looking back to Naoto.]

So, what now, man?

[....He still thinks you're a dude, Naoto.]

[ ..."Man"? She gives him a confused look on that one.]

I... suppose we should return home. The temperature will drop soon as the sun goes down.

[He notices that look and gives her one back.]

Did I say something?

[But, right things got cold.]

I guess we should, huh?

No... I suppose not. [For now she'll just write it off as something that he just adds, like when people say "dude". But she'll remember it for later.

Then she gathers her books back into her arms and stands]

Yes. Which direction do you live in?
