Character

Name: Sora
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Gender: male
Age: 15
Time Period: Ending of Kingdom Heards 3D when he enters the keyhole of sleep again to thank all of his dream eater friends.
Wing Color: White with black and silver outlines.
History: Right here
Personality: Sora is a young man with a very brave and heroic personality. He is willing to leap into danger and risk his own life for the sake of others, even if he does not know them; like when he tried to save Ansem the Wise from the heart encoder explosion. It's also evident when he rushed in to save Megara who had been swarmed by heartless, even though he didn't know her yet.

Sora has a large capacity to forgive others. In the first game, when Riku was his enemy and had tried to kill him own several occasions, Sora had forgiven him easily after the events. He was just frustrated with how Riku acted towards him and how Riku was getting involved with the heartless. Sora is even able to forgive his most hated enemies. When he believed Xehanort's heartless saved Kairi (when it was really Riku) Sora said that he was mad at the things Xehanort's heartless did, but was thankful in him rescuing Kairi. He expressed concern even to Maleificent (who was his enemy in the first game) when she kept the dusks at bay during the battle of Radiant Garden, to allow him and his friends to escape. Sora's forgiveness seems to be easily won, depending on the circumstances. He is capable of forgiving just about anyone depending if they protect him or his friends or help them in some way. However, their can be exceptions to his forgiveness, as in Chain of Memories he forgave Namine for messing with his memories, knowing that she really had no choice in the matter.

Towards his enemies, Sora has very little patience for selfishness or cowardice, as he would chastise Hades and Iago for such acts (but later forgiving Iago when he proved to be sorry for his actions.) Sora isn't stupid but he is rather gullible. When he just meets someone he usually believes whatever is said, like when Mulan tried to pass herself off as man, Goofy was the only one to figure out she was a girl. When it comes to his enemies though, this part of Sora doesn't come up at all. He knows the person is bad and he won't fall for any of their tricks. At one point Xemnas had tried to exploit Sora's kinder side by trying to make the boy sympathize with the nobody's lack of heart. Sora's only reply to this was 'nobodies don't feel sad about anything.'

Even in the worst of situations, Sora seems to remain optimistic no matter how hard things are looking. When he and Riku stuck in the Realm of Nothing, Sora reassured Riku they would get out and just needed to think positive. Even when stuck in the Realm of Darkness, Sora still remained positive. Even if they were stuck there, the Realm of Light was safe. But Sora can falter in his optimistic attitude. When he and Riku were stuck in the Realm of Darkness, Sora had expressed about how the darkness had gotten to him. As he had come to feel that they may never get home. He even became disheartened over the fact that, it was indirectly his fault that Kairi had been kidnapped by the Organization.

Sora is also very self sacrificing for those he cares for. When Kairi's heart was locked inside him, it didn't take him long to act. He pierced his chest with the Keyblade that Unlocks people's hearts to free her's and became a heartless in the process. Again he showed this when he closed Kingdom Hearts for the first time. He had the choice to go back with Kairi or stay behind and find Riku. Knowing that she'd be safe, he told her he'd come back and then left to find Riku.

Sora is known to keep his promises. He follows through on what he has promised no matter what shape or form. With Kairi, he had promised to return both her lucky charm and to come home to her. He made a promise to Namine to thank her for restoring his memories, even though he'd forget about that promise . Sora never breaks his promises though, no matter what the circumstance. It may take him awhile to actually get around to uphold his end but he will make full on his promise. He was able to return her charm and come home to Kairi after a year of being away. He was able to thank Namine in Coded (even if it was just a data replica of himself, and not really him.)

Sora is capable of becoming fast friends with anyone he meets. In every world he visits, he becomes friends with those he meets in a short amount of time. In the first game, Kairi and Riku were his best friends and were on a higher level than his other friends. Overtime, Sora has placed all his friends on the same level, as he worries about all of them. When in Kingdom hearts one, where he would do anything to find both Riku and Kairi (like take the controls to the Gummi ship away from Donald and crash them into a planet. For the off chance his friends were there.) In the second game however, he asks Kairi and Riku quietly to himself to give him more time, as Radiant Garden was under attack and need his help. Now, he considers all his friends as equal and is willing to go to any lengths to help them.

Sora relies on his friends, though not for everything. But he believes his friends give him strength and it isn't the keyblade that does. When he first lost it to Riku in the first game, he felt lost and unsure of himself. He had been the one who fought with it for so long, only to have it ripped away from him. Sora came to realize that he never needed the keyblade. His heart was his strongest weapon. It had been nurtured by the bonds he made over the course of his journey. With his friends, he knew he could do anything and was prepared to fight Riku armed with a wooden sword. This was enough to prove that his heart was stronger than Riku's and won him back the keyblade.

Sora is usually very goofy and happy the majority of the time. He can always keep happy face no matter what he's been through. Even though at points his sadness does get to him, with feeling guilty for getting Kairi kidnapped and parting with the Twilight Town gang. Sora can pull through with the help of his friends. His cheerful and friendly nature allows him to interact with others easily and winning him friends. This part of his personality is evident throughout all of the games he's in and all the people he fights alongside or protects.

Sora is not without his faults. He has a temper that is usually easily set off. When he becomes confused or is mocked by an enemy, he quickly descends into anger. Sora even lost his temper at Donald when the duck had not wanted to explore Deep Jungle. When Sai'x had made Sora beg to see Kairi, only to tell Sora he wouldn't get to see Kairi, Sora shot back to his feet and was ready to attack. With any of the nobodies in Organization Thirteen, Sora shows his temper. As each one usually goads him on to collect more hearts and using him throughout the second game. His temper usually makes him rush into things without fully thinking things through, as he did with Alice's court case. But it was also because of Sora's strong sense in justice that compels him to act this way.

Sora is very competitive as he usually is always up for a challenge. When he was on his island, he and Riku would always be competing in obstacle courses or in mock battles to see who'd win the most. Where as Riku would usually shrug his win off, Sora would take great pride and enthusiasm in winning. Even when Sora went to the Olympic Collosieum, he was ready to participate in the games and take up the challenge. He can be very childish if he loses. Usually groaning over the fact that he lost. What bothers him is when his opponent doesn't seem to take things seriously. When he wins the race on Destiny Island, Riku tells him to lighten up over naming their raft. This is met with a glare from Sora as he had just worked hard to win.

Sora has been known to be a bit thoughtless, but not intentionally. Around those of higher authority he seems to forget himself sometimes. With Queen Minnie, instead of bowing along with Donald and Goofy, he just asked where King Mickey was. Sora once forcefully dragged the King to show him a portrait of Xehanort. Sometimes, Sora remembers to show respect to higher authority, like with Jasmine and Simba.

Sora has been described by the data version of Ansem the wise by having a lot of love in his heart. Sora cares about other people so much he is willing to go to any lengths for them. Because of this love it allows him to see the good before the bad, being able to see everything as "shiny and perfect." His love is even been described as Ansem as being able to bring others back from non existence so long as he follows his heart.

Sora's sense of loyalty is also very strong with his friends. He trusts them undoubtedly, knowing they will come through in the end. Just as he believed in Riku to getting the other Sound Idea in the Symphony of Sorcery world. This is why he acts with outrage when he finds out someone has used their friends and lied to them. When he found out the Organization's true goal, of gathering 13 vessels for Xehanort, Sora was horrified and angry. Justly so because he couldn't believe Xemnas would lie to the members about them not having hearts.

Sora has come to learn though, that anything and anyone can have a heart. When he experienced Roxas's memories that's when he learned Nobodies did have hearts.

In the end, Sora is like any other teenage boy his age. He has a good head on his shoulders and is willing to help those in need. He's not above having fun when it's the right time and place, but he knows when to take things seriously. For a boy who is essentially the Messiah for the Kingdom Hearts universe, he is still a very normal, if special, kid.

Strengths:
Physical

Sora's fighting style is a mix of both magic and physical fighting.
Sora is capable of superhuman feats (which can only be assumed to be because of the keyblade.) As he is able to cut through solid buildings, leap incredible distances, run up skyscrapers, and glide or fly through the air at incredible speeds.

Sora was able to use the keyblade after his and Ventus's hearts merged when Sora was a young boy. This allowed him to use a keyblade of his own and Ventus's.

Sora wields the keyblade from the Realm of light and it comes to him when Destiny Island is being ripped to pieces by the heartless. The keyblade he canonically is linked with is the Kingdom Key, but the keyblade is capable of changing forms with different key chains.

Sora can use other keyblade wielders' weapons. In Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, he stole both of Roxas's keyblades and was able to use three at once (including his own.) He is also capable of dual wielding in his default state, like when he used Riku's keyblade in their final battle with Xemnas.

Sora is able to manipulate light, as it is a an element used in his universe. He is capable of controlling it and using it in many ways to fight back against others. (Examples, forming it into spinning balls of light that crash and explode outwards, causing an explosion to burst from the ground.)

Sora is able to use a variety of basic magic (like Fire, Blizzard, Thunder.) Fire is capable of surrounding him in rotating flames, burning anyone who comes near him. Thunder summons a bolt down and explodes outwards, hitting any enemy nearby. Lastly, Blizzard shoots a single icicle at an enemy and explodes on contact. These spells become more powerful with each upgrade. However, in Kingdom Hearts 3D, Sora is now capable of using a wider range of spells, even more powerful than the ones he had in Kingdom hearts 2. A list will be provided.

With Sora's cure spell, he is capable of healing anyone in range of the healing circle as well as himself. With his reflect spell, he is surrounded by a magical barrier. If an enemy were to hit it the panels on it fire outward and damage the enemy with a varied amount of hits. Magnet draws enemies into a vortex of energy leaving them helpless in the air (depending on how big they are) as they spin around it.

Sora is also able to use drive forms. With the help of a friend or friends, he can unlock powers that are special to his clothes. Drive forms unlock hidden power in Sora. They can range from making him more physically powerful, increasing his magical skill, or both. Drive forms allow him to use two keyblades at once; except for Wisdom form which is purely magic based.

Sora is also able to use skills called Limits. He must have a friend in order for him to use one as both he and someone he`s come close to will combine efforts in fighting. An example would his and Riku's Eternal Session. They will fire blasts of darkness, create swords of light, and then unleash an explosion of light and darkness.

Sora is also able to use something called Flowmotion. In KH3D Sora is able to use his environment to either, move around at high speeds, jump extremely high, or attack his opponents. When he uses flowmotion an aura of light purple will surround him allowing him to swing off poles, leap from walls, or grind on railings of sorts all at high speed.

He also picked up another capability known as Reality Shifts. This allows Sora to effect the environment in minor ways. What happens is, Sora dives into a circle of light on the ground and is able effect the environment in some sort of way. An example would be in Prankster's Isle, Sora can trap enemies in bubbles and roll on them and trap more in the bubble.

Emotional/Mental
Sora's can make friends very quickly whenever he meets someone new. Because of his friendly, cheerful and helpful attitude many people are drawn to him over the course of his journey. It's evident throughout all the worlds he goes to, becoming quick friends with all the disney characters. As said above in his personality, Sora has a strong sense of loyalty towards the friends he meets. He is never willing to betray a friend and willing to lie for their sake. Like he did with Mulan as he went along with her act of being a man.
Sora has faith in his friends as he believes they will always pull through for him in the end.

He's very brave, willing to jump head first to the aid of strangers. He did this with Alice during her trial in Wonderland, when Megara was in danger of being attacked by heartless, and helping Neku find his partner for the reaper's game. He's just a very helpful person and will go out on the line for just about anyone.

Sora has a strong belief in the heart, believing it will lead him and others in the right direction so long as they follow it. He states this much through out the series, from Kingdom hearts one, all the way to Kingdom Hearts 3D. He knows his connections to other people and the light in his heart will lead him to where he needs to go. Ansem the Wise in KH3D had said the same about Sora, that he could do anything so long as he continued to follow his heart.

Sora also isn't arrogant to feel he's self entitled to the keyblade. He believes himself small and part of something much bigger. This makes him believe that he doesn't need the keyblade because his heart and his friends are his power to fight. He states this a lot of times during the series. In KH1, when he was about to fight Riku for the first time in Hollow Bastion and again, in KH3D, when he's about to fight Xemnas.

The boy has a strong capacity to forgive others, willing to forgive someone's bad doings as long as they show remorse for their actions. But, his sympathy and forgiveness can't be fooled since he is perceptive enough to know when someone is truly sorry and when another is not. He was able to forgive Iago when he knew the bird's remorse was legitimate after Iago had saved Sora, Donald and Goofy. But, with Xemnas, who had attempted to play on Sora's sympathy, Sora just told him to give it a rest because he wasn't buying it.

He can remain hopeful and optimistic even in the darkest situations like when he and Riku were trapped in the realm of Nothingness. He's positive things will work out as long as he keeps pushing forward.

Weaknesses:
Physical
The only physical weaknesses that could be really noted is that if Sora's disarmed of the keyblade, Sora can be easily defeated by an opponent. In Hallow Bastion, when he lost the keyblade, all he had to use was a wooden sword. With it, he did very little damage to the Heartless. But because of the nature of the keyblade, being an empathetic weapon, it is almost impossible for him to be without it. But, if he was, Sora could still probably put up a decent fight if he were using a regular sword but he wouldn't be as effective if it weren't his keyblade.

If Sora ever uses his drive forms there's a usually the chance of him getting Anti form. This allows him to become much faster but at the cost of his endurance and strength. He's more easily hurt in his Anti form and he can't deliver as much damage. What's more in this form, he can't use any of his magic or healing items. He either must wait the transformation out during combat or escape to get out of it.

Also, in KH3D, Sora had been described by Xehanort for not having the same immunity to darkness that Riku had. This hypothetically states that Sora can be hurt by the darkness more easily than Riku could.

Out of combat Sora can be a bit of a klutz. This is shown throughout Kingdom Hearts 1 with his, Donald and Goofy's Trinity marks and how often they would usually fumble around. It's also displayed when Hades just flicked him in the head knocking him off his balance.

Mental/Emotional
Sora has a tendency to be a bit too trusting of others, even complete strangers. He offered to help Neku, not knowing the boy had planned to give him to Young Xehanort.

He's also almost too reliant on his friends. When Sora is alone he never thinks his actions through fully and leaps in completely and often winds up in more trouble. This is evident in KH3D, when Sora spends the majority of his journey alone and when he ends up dropping so far into the realm of sleep, where his heart falls into sleep. His reliability on his friends are also one of the only few things that keep him grounded.

Sora's temper easily gets the best of him when he gets confused or when an enemy plays with someone's or his feelings. This usually causes him to make threats or to actually attack. Again, in KH2, Sora made a threat to the Organization right after Demyx's defeat. Without his friends around, his temper can be nearly impossible to calm. His friends seem to be the only ones capable of doing that, as Goofy and Donald did right after Sora's threat to the Organization.

Sora can be gullible towards other strangers. When Mulan was trying to pull the act off of being a man, Goofy had been the only one to notice, pointing it out. He seems to fall for lies that some people tell, at least on the baring that he doesn't know enough about them. This usually falling into his easy trust of strangers.

Sora can be a bit prideful and confident in his abilities, willing to jump into a problem he doesn't quite fully understand. This can lead him getting into problems that could potentially be life threateningly dangerous. In the Olympus Coliseum, Sora believed only just after hitting some barrels around that he'd qualify for the games. It wasn't until much later in that plot line where Sora would go to fight off Cerberus to prove that he could beat the creature and be a true hero.

The boy also doesn't seem to think too far ahead in his actions. When in Halloween town in KH1, Sora unlocked the heart like container to help Jack make the heartless dance. He didn't realize that someone may actually want that container to try and control the heartless. Potentially with Sora's lack of foresight he could open up more problems later on.

Sora had opened the door to the realm of sleep to see his Spirit dream eater friends once again. He was going to thank them for all their help during his journey in the Realm of sleep. But, when he was engulfed by that light from the pathway, Sora wasn't diving like he usually was into a new world in the realm of Sleep. He was just tumbling. Everything grew dark, the light seeping away from his vision.

It was awhile before Sora found himself lying face first on the ground, awakening from his sleep. Groaning in pain, the teenager pushed himself onto his knees. Sora rubbed the back of his head as it felt like he had been hit over the head with a sack of hammers. Upon getting up though, Sora realized he was just wearing some raggedy looking pants. Okay, who had stripped him and put him into these? Because that was a little weird. In any case Sora changed back into his usual clothes when, okay what was snagging on his shirt? And why did it hurt so much when it did? Reaching back he touched what it was to feel a pair of fluffy wings on his back. Next question, when did he get those?

This was all too confusing and annoying and it was making Sora more than a little mad. Where was he? How'd he get here? That's all that mattered right now. Could it be one of Xehanort's plots? But that couldn't be, Riku had stopped Xehanort just in time. So maybe it wasn't that. Thinking for a moment, Sora placed a hand to his chin. Well, wherever he was there was no point in just standing around and being angry to himself. He wouldn't find anything out that way. Besides, maybe this was just a dream he was having, even if it felt pretty real. Having wings though were pretty cool, maybe he could get used to it. After all, in some worlds he did kind of change into different outfits and stuff and sometimes species, maybe having wings here was just part of blending in?

But, being alone for a few minutes gave Sora time to think. He had told his friends he'd only be a little while in the realm of sleep. But this definitely wasn't the realm of sleep. What would happen if he couldn't open the door back to their world? He'd have to try. But realizing the keyblade wasn't coming on his command just made him worry more. Shaking his head, he couldn't worry about that. Even if he was stuck right now he knew they'd come for him.

Their hearts were connected and he had to trust that their bonds would remain strong even if they were apart right now. Smiling with quick founded hope, Sora nodded to himself. He was fine and would be fine. So having pushed his worry to the side, Sora now had new found excitement. Where was he? And what was this place? This world needed to be explored and he was just the boy to do it.

Running out towards the edge of the forest, Sora knew a great adventure awaited him and that he'd probably make a few new friends along the way, and maybe even see some of the old ones.
